Topics

The conference will cover (but will not be limited to) the following topics:

1. Techniques for making foams and other cellular metals; effect of processing parameters on the structure and properties.
2. Morphological and microstructural characterization at different size scales.
3. Property profiles in relation to porous structure.
4. Modeling of structure, structure development, and related properties.
5. Secondary operations (joining, coating, machining, shaping, etc.)
6. Physics of foaming, pore nucleation, pore growth and coalescence, and foam stabilization.
7. Challenging applications and case studies including component design criteria.
8. Porous biomaterials and nanoporous structures.
9. Fluid, heat, and mass transfer in porous metals and metal foams.
10. Miscellaneous topics related to metal foams.

Poster Presentations

The maximum poster size allowable is 110 centimeters x 110 centimeters.

Submission of Manuscripts

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts (or "final papers") for the conference proceedings. The manuscripts should be submitted online with the given format (an example will be provided) using the same link that you will have access to from this page and should be submitted by the start date of the conference. The proceedings will be published several weeks after the conference. The manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by the organizing committee and the selected papers are recommended for publication in other scientific journals.
