November 2 Tour
NOVEMBER 2, 2017 – FIELD TOUR DAY
7:30 AM: Vans/buses depart from Hilton Riverfront Hotel
Participants will be divided into groups by vehicle and will visit 2 stops before lunch (provided). After lunch each group will visit 2 more stops. Below is a list of stop/topics that will be covered during the tour.
- Challenges of Regenerating Swamp Forests - Cape Fear River Bottom
- Natural Regeneration of Blackwater Swamps - The Black River
- Artificial Regeneration of Cypress in a Blackwater Swamp Forest - Colly Swamp
- Silvicultural Alternatives in Mixed Bottomland Hardwood Stands - Bladen Lakes State Forest
- Lunch at Singletary Lake State Park
5:00 PM: Arrive back at Hilton Riverfront Hotel
