What is the starting time?
A reception will be held for award recipients, one guest per recipient, and college presidents or their designees at the Executive Mansion at 10:30 a.m., which we hope will include an appearance and welcome by the Governor. The Excellence Event luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center.
How do I register attendees from my college?
Each college should register all their Excellence Event attendees at: www.ncsu.edu/mckimmon/cpe/opd/excellence
Where should I park?
Please park at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 Salisbury Street in Raleigh. Public parking is available at the Raleigh Convention Center for a charge of $7.00 per vehicle. www.raleighconvention.com/directions.
Who may attend the reception at the Executive Mansion, and how do they register?
Invited guests for the Executive Mansion reception include:
- Academic Excellence Award recipients
- Dallas Herring Achievement Award recipient
- President of the Year recipient
- Distinguished Partners in Excellence recipients
- I.E. Ready Award recipient
- Community college president (or a designee)
- Bob Scott Leadership Award recipient
- NC Community Colleges Art Award recipients
- Excellence in Teaching recipient
- Staff of the Year recipient
- One guest per award recipient
- Platinum, Gold & Silver Excellence Event sponsors
The names of each attendee must be submitted to the online registration site, as outlined in the Executive Mansion invitations, by April 10, 2012. There is no cost for this reception.
If I am invited and choose to attend the reception at the Executive Mansion, how should I get there?
Complimentary shuttle buses will begin transporting invited guests from the Raleigh Convention Center to the Executive Mansion at 9:45 a.m. Please do not attempt to park at the Executive Mansion. Everyone attending the reception MUST be registered in advance and must bring a photo I.D. to get through security.
How many people will each college be able to invite to the 2012 Excellence Event?
Each college will determine the number of guests they wish to invite to the 2012 Excellence Event. It may be helpful to know that each table will seat eight guests. If you invite more than eight guests, we will seat your delegation in close proximity to one another. If you invite less than eight guests, you and another college's party may be seated at the same table.
What is the cost of the Excellence Event?
Each seat at the luncheon event will cost $40.
Will members of the General Assembly be invited?
Each college is welcome to use the provided invitation template to invite legislators or other members of their delegation to the Excellence Event. Please use our online system to RSVP for all guests, including your legislators, who plan to attend the luncheon celebration as part of your college's party.
